The 2016 Auction Art production was brilliant!  From our younger students, we had two feathery, wet-on-wet watercolor pieces from the Kindergarteners; a “series of bouquets” painted and assembled by the 1st graders; and two 2nd grade pieces: a layered, circle felt piece and a wine glass inspired contour drawings piece.

In 3rd grade, they are the first in the school to learn a new technique to the art world: Gelli Printmaking.  Their hard work and creative outcomes developed into a detailed masterpiece.  4th grade went rustic with a painted woodchip collage.

And finally, from the 5th graders, we are following tradition; with the school’s technology, our 5th graders snapped self-portraits and uploaded their work to a website to build a photo mosaic of a well-known Portland image.  The auction attendees had the opportunity to bid on a large, one-of-a-kind professionally framed photo mosaic of all the 5th graders but everyone can purchase a smaller print of the same mosaic.

Last but not least, we have once again made available notecards with renditions of each of the art pieces from 2016.

It was a beautiful show proudly produced by our children!

The Faces of Fifth Grade will no doubt be a huge hit among auction attendees and garner a nice price.  For the rest of us, we can have a commemorative poster of the art piece.
